i know a bunch of assholes are just going to be like aww buy new boots... but mommy and daddy dont hand me money and im not old enough for a job so ..... my boots hurt my shins and calfs right at the top of the boot... any suggestions?
try making them super tight, like uncomfortably tight. it might hurt at first but once you get used to it, it helps a shitload or at lease that helped me alot.
if it hurts the skin right around the top of the boot, i would look to your socks for the answer. if your socks are too short, the may may being ripped out of your legs. if your socks all tall enough but super thin, you might want to look into thicker socks.
if it is hurting the muscle in your calf and the bone in your shin, your boots are probably buckled way too damn tight.
if the problem is just due to pain from backseat landings, try booster straps and buckling your boots a bit tighter.
do not crash backseat on big natrual jumps were the landings is like forever, i did that and ragdolled for like 200 feet at like 30 miles an hour, it hurt like a bitch and now my whole right leg is greenish/redish...but tight boots helps alot, also soft boots help too
booster straps and a good set of ski socks should help you out. also take your boots to your local shop. sometimes they can make your shell softer by adjusting your canting. check it out. booster straps help alot though.
i have columbia socks that costed me like 20 bucks per a pair but they ahve like elastics around the foot and shin so that u dont get wrinkles and my nordica beasts came with booster straps so this year my feet have been prime
dude everyone gets this problem, its called shin bang, i either use icy/hot patches or icy/hot cream, doesnt make it perfect but it helps...it also helps to get some smart wool socks with padding in the front
i used to get shin bang but i got new boots last year.... they are alot better but now sometimes my arches hurt... ive tried insoles but they never work any other ideas??
along with booster straps and good socks take them to a shop and get a heel lifter made for them. this is going to raise your calf past the pinching point so you'll be nice and comfy
yea my racer friends older brother who is ranked like 7th nationally for downhill had to shave his lower legs because his boots were so tight that the hair on his legs would cut his skin, that's for a different reason obviously but still i hear that it works well
i actually make them super loose..not loose enough to fall off the land makes it so nice and i can have room too land off balance but i dunno what to tell you
I wear really short ankle socks it helps alot
dont wear socks like smartwool they killthe only problem with wearing ankle socks is that ur boots smell like shit
