ok first off he's not a douchebag to anyone who thinks he is he just brags too much for his own good and accepts too many commercials. and whoever i quoted is right: america is too focused on results. but bode did take on too many things to himself at the olympics. I'm sure he's a good guy, he just made some mistakes. and roids suck balls

I agree with this dude. I find it really hard to believe that everyone of these quotes was a calculated PR move to bring attention to the sport. I really dont think Bode is that smart. I think he's just a drunken redneck with a great talent for skiing and doesnt give a fuck. And I sort of respect that in a certain way. As for lance, what he has done is incredible and should not be discounted. But dont for a second believe that he is completely clean. Every professional athlete has a team of doctors feeding them "suppliments" and making sure they dont test positive. The ignorance thing is bullshit. Those athletes know anything and everything that goes into their bodies. It is there job to know. There is too much money to be had to not do everything possible to stay on top. Lance is a prick and everybody who has spent anytime with him knows it. One of my friends has met him and spent time with him and says he is a real ass. I like the guy for what he is done and overcome, but I dont for a second believe that he isnt using performance enhancers or is a model citizen.

why does everybody go at lance?
sure he may be a prick, but he's like superman. He is probably the strongest guy you will ever see, with the most determination. The french only try to prosecute him because he kills them in races and dishonors their country's name. he has been tested tens of times, and not a single time has he been found with a performing-enhancing drug. I believe in lance. Why aren't you?

It is not only possible, but very probable that Lance Armstrong, at some point in his career, knowingly took performance enhancing drugs that had nothing to do with his cancer treatment.

The thing is, Lance isn't alone. As a matter of fact, he's just like many other professional endurance athletes, especially in the cycling world.

He's an amazing athlete and an amazing human being and I won't take anythig away from him...yet. But you just have to realize how prevelant doping is in professional sports.

Think about it this way: if the guys Lance is beating are use performance enhancing drugs or other forms of doping, what does say about him? That means he's not only better than all the non-doped guys but all the doped guys too. I don't buy it for one fucking second.

i didn't want ot accuse him of that type of steroid use, but put that way...thats a thought provoking arguement (assuming other dudes are using roids---maybe its not such a phenom worldwide as it is in the US)

i heard somethign about how having lost alot of muscle to atrophe he built the back up by cycling--therefore all his muscles were perfectly suited for cycling...but thats debatable, i mean if all you do is train to bike, i assume your muscles behave in a similar manner

are you serious!? that is the stupidest thing ive ever heard. if you know nething at all about bode you know he wasnt ever rich, he grew up with out electricity and plumbing, he was the redneck that got by because of pure talent, everyones bagging on him because he didnt do good in the olympics but seriously, he said before the olympics that he wasnt going out to win medals, he was going out to represent himself more then the US which is kinda toolish but, yeah, hes def. not rich without earinging it and he def. didnt get born into wealth
