The rumor has it Jon Olsson moved to Monaco for tax reasons, since he's actually super rich now.
So do you think he could be the representation of what skiing will become, how much importance it is taking, and how much money's put in play? Who knows, skiers might be paid as well as boarders soon...

sweden is one of the countries where you are really heavily taxed, all scandanavian contries you pay like crazy like over 60% if you are raking in the $

as a swede i can confirm that jon has actully moved to monaco... as a lot of other sportstars from sweden do, the taxes are really crazy over here.

Jon, another fugitive who does as Ingermar (Stenmarg) Pernilla (Wiberg) and Anja (Pärson) and moves to Monaco. Also Jons old friend, the slalomstar Markus Larsson lives in Monaco. Maybe he'll inspire Markus to dust off the twintips again?

How Jon got his money (except being one of the sports greatest)
J. Lindeberg must have paid him CRAZY money to outbid Oakley and launch their ski gear.
Jon is basically Heads freestyle team, not half as many people would by Head twins if Jon didn't ride them, so they must also pay him alot.
And I'm fairly sure he doesn't stay in Monaco all too often.

Anyone who can sport the hell out of an all PINK outerwear outfit is hands down one of the best in the sport.
People accuse him of having a lazy style, but I think that is what makes him so rad to watch. AND, I think that it was and is horse ish that he does not get much credit for sticking cab 5 on chad's the same day as Tanner.

the reason he moved to monaco are probably that we have really high taxes in sweden, and the pro lifestyle doesnt last forever.
So why not pay less tax and make more money .
I would rather live in monaco then sweden closer to the alps and warmer in the summer.
