1080 sizing is dumb for me

so i tried on some 1080s, size 28 (10). i could feel the front end of the insole. so it figured, its to small, but i had plenty of room.
so i got the size 29 (11)
i cant feel the ends of the insole anymore, but now there is way to much space.
what the hell?
and dont say, maybe they had the wrong insole in the 28 boot, they didnt.
anyone else have this problem.
i had nordicas in a 28, the fit good, still a little to big. so i dont know whats going on
any help would be cool
thanks

u didnt have a boot fitter helping u? if u can feel the front of the boot its not too bad... cuz when u lean forward.. ur foot gets pushed back. it sounds like u got too big of a boot now.

The 1080's have a very sloppy fit. Try to get some new ones, but get a bootfitter.

Get them heat molded to your foot

theres no such thing as a 28.5. they dont make half sizes.
and no i didnt have a bootfitter, never have, i dont relly see how someone else can tell you how your foot feels in a boot. but ive never had one, so im missing out on some info i guess.
but yea, if i pushed my foot back, they fit ok, but i still felt the end on the insole.

the liners will also flatten out so the arnt as thick so they would have given you some more room in the front

break them in, they should give you some more room after a few days on the slopes

well your only partially right there. they don't make half size shells, but the half sizes have a thinner footbed to give you more space. What you should do is a shell fit to see what size shell you need. take the liner out and push your foot all the way forward. you should be able to stack about 2 or 3 fingers between your heel and the back of the boot. after you find the right shell you may need to have them put in wedges, or you may need to get custom footbeds. if you get a good bootfitter they'll always rig you up with something.

If you have the money, look for a good bootfitter. All that extra stuff means you get a good fit, and you also get slapped with a higher bill. If you have the money to drop, its worth it though.

He's definitely right, I OWN THE 1080's in 28.5. I have a size 12 foot in shoes.
You're supposed to be able to feel the end with your toes quite a bit. I tried the 28, 28.5 and the 29...you want the boot to be snug, because the liner will stretch with use as you break it in...they're a vinyl outer and autoconforming padding layers so they stretch at just the right spots for a perfect fit....like a baseball glove, lol.
Sounds to me like the boots are too big. What size are your feet (shoes)? Unless you're like a 13, stick with the 28-28.5's.
Are they the 05' xwave teneighty or the foil boot?

theyre the foils.
i got like a 10/11 shoe depending on brand.
ill try to return them, i already wore them once for six hours, maybe less, and wore cat tracks whenever i walked. we'll see what happens

From what I hear the foils are even a little looser, so definitely go down...into the smallest boot that's comfortable to walk in in the store.
I also suggest investing in some Superfeet insoles...they raise your foot in the boot for a better fit, and centre it, as well as having wicked arch support. Did you wear them for 6 hours in the house? They should take them back...and if someone at the store helped you at all they should have realized they were way too big.
You definitely need some help from a fitter.
Nice boots though!
