Don't have a nice camera yet, so this is the best I could do with an old Sony Handycam. After looking at all your's I'm real stoked to get myself a nice DSLR and start taking some good quality pictures.

I realize these are super grainy and the quality is trash, but I tried, and with a better camera I think these would be beautiful.

I wish I knew how to fix that, and I was also just using the canon 18-55mm kit lens and haven't gotten enough money to upgrade yet

I'm liking how this photo turned out. This is the first time I've ever done a photo with the subject in color and the background black and white so some critique would be greatly appreciated! You can be as harsh as you want it won't bother me!

hmmmm i've got a couple b&w prints that i'd love to post, but i'm guessing that scanning them won't really work because they're on large pieces of photo mount board that won't fit in my little scanner. advice anyone?

Selective coloring is lame as fuck. The photos crooked. The whole still life thing you've got going is lame as fuck as well. And the watermark is more than excessive.

We should have a harsh crit thread haha

Haha I'm down for that harsh crit thread! Thanks for you're critique too, like I said this is my first selective coloring photo too at first I wasn't a fan either but I thought I'd give it a shot. I still don't like it too much though. The reason I actually took this picture is for a photography class the subject was "something you love" obviously I can't take a picture of myself riding it so this to me was the next best thing. Thanks for being harsh too, I mean if everyone said it was good and it sucked ass my photography would never get anywhere haha.

Don't take this the wrong way, but it means you are the one that is awkward. Unless your model just completely loves pictures of themselves, they won't be completely comfortable in front of the camera. Somehow, you have to gain their trust and allow the model to become comfortable being shot. You have to get them to relax somehow.

When I find a surefire way, Ill let you know.

I've asked people to let me shoot (as in just some portraits or something) them and they all turn me down. That's what I meant.

Dude don't worry about your subject being awkward just be confident and shoot it well. This was my second fashion photo shoot, and the photo is of my ex girlfriend from four years back haha.

The catch is: she was my (older) sisters best friend when they were in grade 10 and I was in grade 8 LOL. I hit that a couple times, with confidence it's not all that awkward.

Three exposures at 1/2.5th, 1/5th, and 1/10th. Shot at f/22. Used a polarizer. And then I HDR/tonemapped it with Photomatrix Pro.

a few panoramas I've done.

Proving you don't need an expensive camera, these were all taken with an old beat up PowerShot A530 I got for $40

re-sizing some of these for the 5mb limit is kinda unfortunate as they lost a lot of vibrance and just don't look as good.

I bumped the contrast and brightness a bit and thats it. Click for better quality colors. It also didn't help that the day had super flat lighting.
