1. who holds a handbag like that? +it's distracting from the fit as a whole, and it's too dark considering the clothing is what's supposed to be highlighted.
2. looking down on your subject is almost always a no
3. I'm sorry but her eyebrow is distracting, but not as distracting as her entire facial expression. Or the fact that you can't see the clothing.
4. probably the most natural of the whole set.
So think here, you're photographing clothing so they can sell clothing. think of styling, fits, dress for the season. location, what do you think the customer is thinking? why do i want to buy clothing that I can barely see that for some reason is being worn in the woods? (not saying the woods are a bad location but variety).
Also, all of your frames are kind of tight and they seem to be more portraits than about the clothing. No offense but unless you're using a celebrity endorsement a person in clothing is more like a living manikin the shopper can a)relate to and b)see themselves as. Also, next time bring someone along to hold a fill card for you, it'll not only help liven up the subjects eyes (which may sound contradictory to what i had previously typed) but it will also produce a much more "natural" light. And why the serious face in all the photos? get a fucking smile in there, this isn't a morgue it's fucking spring.
As not really a side note, these feel super intimate. like, e-harmony intimate. lighten up the mood

There was a stylist who was dressing her so I really wasn't worrying about "dress of the season" ect. And I wish I hadn't mentioned that these were for a shop because they were supposed to be portraits with a lifestyle esque vibe (that apparently wasn't accomplished). I had shot a bunch of outfits against a white wall and the owner of the shop wanted some variation. I didn't post the white wall ones because there's really nothing to say about them. The woods are just outside of the shop and I thought that it would show a bit what the shop is about (it's a pretty hippy spot out in the countryside right by frequented surf breaks). I was hoping customers would see the clothing being worn in more of a real life sense rather than just against a white backdrop. From what you guys are saying they seem to come off ass a midway point between the two and just don't work. Again thanks for the input, I think I'll look into getting a reflector or incorporating some strobes for fill for the next shoot I'll do for them.
It's really...muddled. I think it'd be nicer if it the peaks were a bit crisper in the storm. Some more alpenglow on the peaks at left would help...probably takes a lifetime to get this type of shot right...!

I really dig these. Really nice grain for ISO 6400. What developer/time/agitation did you use for push processing like this? I've been trying to push Tri-X to 3200 with Sprint Standard because its free at school, but the results are pretty meh.

legit just toss that shit in some 1:100 rodinal for 2 hours with a single inversion at the 1 hour point

They are just kind of boring subjects, man. Looks like you just grabbed a camera on auto mode and took pictures of random stuff. Make an initiative when you go to shoot. Plan a time for a good light depending on the shot.

The grain kinda tells me it could've been shot on film, but then there isn't a single spec of dust to be seen. Are you just a champ at cloning or do you work in a dust-free environment?

I've thought about that, but I like the imperfection to 'hold on to', so to speak. Otherwise it would kind of have been too smooth. I like the subtle imperfectness in there.
Yeah, I know. A lot of the 'scratches' in the dark parts of the ledge is actually in the rock itself. It's black marble.
I really like the picture and will probably get it printed, so having it smooth then is gonna be important.
3rd one is nice, and I realize it's easy because they are distracted and everyone shooting street now has done it, but don't shoot people looking down at their phone screens, it makes for a boring subject
