siver is definately the shit. North face is too. It just seems like it depends on, are you a park skier or a big mountain skier.

id get northface because to me it just seems a little bit more quality. But Siver is more "core." get what u like style and quality wise without concerning the name.

Ya cause you are never out in the elements skiing...id love to take out a siver piece of shit 1,000 mm jacket when its dumping. I guess if youre a park rat and run inside the first hint of snow then siver is cool, otherwise northface. Much better quality gear.

I bought Siver this year, North Face is good but a lot more technical. If I was gonna be skiing other stuff besides park and groomers and some trees I'd get something a little more heavy duty than Siver.

well, i live in Quebec, it rains here like 3 times in the springs. I've been skiing for the past 20 years and I,m out in the pow as soon as there is any.
I wore my siver jacket in teh rain last week and it worked really well, it's definatly not what i would have expected from a 400$ TNF jacket but that's not the price you pay for a siver ten-4 jacket. By the way, they are not 1000 mm anymore, they are 5000 mm wich is not that bad at all under small rain.
And unless the pow is real wet, you dont need much waterproofing to stay dry and since the snow in the east coast is as far from being wet asyou can get, I'd say 5000mm is enought. And ifit'sraining a lot, I prefer using a good old plasticbag then a waterprrof jacket that will get so wet as soon as I sit on the chiar lift.
Plus the north face jackets doesent fit at all on me in large format

I'd say Siver has more style. Besides, North face's quality is fantastic. yours to choose: style or quality. but still, I am not saying that Siver is bad quality, or that north face has no style, but one has more of something than the other.

northface is good quality, but so overpriced and such a big company. I think I'd rather buy something even better if I was gonna spend loads on a jacket or pants, like peak performance, or like the nicest DNA jacket or something...

Why would it matter? Pants are mother fucking pants, it doesnt matter whether you do moguls, big mountain, park, or snowblades, they are the fucking same thing.

i guess it comes down to style or performance. Siver and ever other newschooler company is focused on styler over performance. On the other hand North Face is mroe focused on performance. North Face makes higher quality products with better waterproof protection and breathability.
But then the biggest factor is price.
I would have to go with North Face because i rather be warm and dry during a blizzard.

Not anymore man, about 5-10 years ago north face was hella core, now it's just as mainstream as Nike.
You go to Aspen, and see all those rich ass white people walking around with there fancy ass north face, fur hooded jackets, that they paid $800 for. In those "boutique" north face stores.
From where im from that shit ain't core.
Im not gonna lie, they make some sick technical outwear, espically for mountainneering.
If your willing to pay mad bucks for that stuff, companies like Arteryx, Mountain Hardwear, Marmot, (Patagonia, Sierra Designs a little more like north face) make some crazy ass technical outerwear
