"Your poles are too long!"

Ummmmm.... yeah. has anybody ever gotten this from some crusty freestyler before too? I hear everybody saying it as a crutch for shitty skiers. I dont see how this is a benefit for freeskiers or skiing skills in general. am i missing out on a big joke? Am i just being slow?

I ski moguls, so short poles are a must. Other than that, really long poles look gay.

if you have poles that fit you its all good, its dumb to ski with really long poles cuz they won't do you any good. Besides poles look tight when you tweak out a grab, like the old NS logo

I broke my poles one day and went to the ski shop at the hill and bought a pair of Goode carbon fibre kids poles. they are light and STRONG I've had 'em ever since. they rule. i dont even notice the short lenght and i only paid $15 for them on sale!!!

I usepoles so thayt when I'm standing on my skis, i get a nice 90 degree angle bend at my elbow or so.Old fitting emthod that i still use.

In Stereotype (the movie) there's a guy that goes without poles. I'm not sure if it's supposed to be a joke, but he can do like cork 7s and a bunch of other shit.

i prefer long poles cause i used to race and i ski big mt more then i jib. it helps get you forward and balanced. if your poles are to short you tend to sit in the back seat. but i guess it doesnt matter if all you do is jib

My poles used to be pretty long, but after planting my pole in front of me on a landing on day and connecting my face to the handle, I cut about 4 inches off them because I was bitter as fuck. They are short as hell and I love it. Although they SUCK for traversing, but, meh I don't care.

hey these are real poles haha:



they were about 20 cm's too big, they had leather straps and the baskets had about a diameter of 10 cms they were hilarious.

i am 6'1' and i use my 46' smith z-bends.. i love them. i had 51' smith straits but they broke :(

when i ski steep stuff it always seems like longer poles help me ski better because I can reach further down the mountain but for jibbing smaller looks better and they dont seem to get in the way as much.
