Why the nano is somewhat homosexual

Well sure its cool and all but any one that is going to buy one is mos def getting a case for it-
1-Cannot see how cool it is with a damn case and it gets wayyy bigger with a case.
2-Color screen? what the hell is the point? its so small its pointless to jack up the price because of this.
3-Four gigs? thats so point less, at the premier of the nano they were going on about how many songs itunes has sold...well then why the hell would you make an i pod that has such little memory? Pointless. its like a ferrari with a honda civic motor.
Personally-They should have used nano technology and made a 5gig(poor people or who dont have lots of music), A 10 Gig, and a 20 gig. Yes theywould be different sizes but as a scale the 20gig would be way smaller than the current 20. THEN they should make the current photo color into a 40gig and 60 gig model

Remember when the mini first came out? 12 hours of battery, and 2 and 4 gig. about 6 months later they came out with new minis with 18 hour batteries, upgraded to 6 gig and they cost less.
Same thing is gonna happen with the nanos. Cheaper, more battery life and more gigs. Just wait.

i totally agree, i was going to make a thread like this yesterday too. the i thought the screen was going to be the same size as regular color ipods and then i saw that it was like the size of my thumbnail. the one kid had his for 2 days and it was already scratched to shit (not saying thats going to be the case for everyone). and yeah 4 gigs suck, i rep the 60, kills that little dildo.

wrong. first mini's were 5gb.
As for more memory...it's flash memory, and a huge flash drive is fucking pricey and not even available yet when you start talking 10gb and up.

uy know whats funny, the 4 gig is 249 bucks. the 20 gig is 299, then the 60 gig is like 399. so for only 50 bucks more u can get 16 more gigs than the nano. and with 100 bucks more than that, u get 40 more gigs. i think it's interesting. sounds like nano people get screwed the most

I really wish I had a 40 gig. I have 31 gigs right now and I cant fit my music on my 20 gig. it sucks. I got it so I could have all my music wherever I go. (well, i got it from free ipods, but nevertheless, I wanted one for that...)
they are overpriced. but, they are not much more then other players out there. their interface is better. batter life is lacking and they are getting to be one of the bigger players out there (they used to be the smallest by far).

Solid state memory has no moving parts like a hard drive does and eliminates some of the problems that iPods have when they brake.
The best sellling iPod was a mini, and it started with a 4 GB size. The first Nano released is a 4GB. To buy 4GB of solid state flash memory alone, you are paying 50$ less than the iPod Nano. So if you think that a Battery and LCD Screen aren't worth 50$, then I guess they are homosexual. It is a good deal though.
The only way Apple pulled it off was by purchasing 40% of Samsung's solid state memory production to decrease the prices.

Mavrck, you are a nerd. There are plenty of people with 40+ GB of music, that they purchased, probably before you were born and transfered it themselves. Just because you have less than 5GB of music, doesn't mean you the rest of the world does. Plenty of people on iPodlounge.com have transfered their entire Vinyl/CD music library to their comps and then their iPods.
Plus, if you listen to music at CD quality (320kbps), you can fit about a third as many songs as you can at shitty old 128(kbps). So for people who listen to music in high quality, 60GB iPods are useful.
And, no one said you can only store Music on an iPod. Photos take up more room, and it is a portable hard drive, do with it what you want.

A few years ago, I hitchiked with a guy who worked for the development lab of a hard drive company.. He ws telling me then that they already created a 500 gig hard drive/pc about the size of a watch battery.
But he told me it'd probably be at least 10 years before it goes onto the market, to control the industry and sell alot of their older technology stuff.

4 gigs in plenty anyways. so you can have a thousand songs as opposed to 10000. if you listen to that much music, i think you've got something wrong with you anyways. imagine going somewhere with 50 cds and that not being enough... so rule that one out. as for the size getting bigger with a case, give me a friggin break. it still fits in your pocket comfortably, so suck it up.

yeah, but i doubt you listen to every single song on there. if you do, you have way too much free time on your hands. i think 4 gig (or the equivalent to about 60 cds) is enough music to listen to while you're on the go..

yeah, but then if you get a new cd, you have to take shit off to put that cd on, I just pile it on top of my other 200 albums. I listen to my ipod while biking, walking around town, in the car, and when i'm chilling at hoe, so I hear pretty much everything on it.
