Replying to Sleeping with the tv on

I know a few people who sleep with the tv on... what's with that? a bunch of years back i would have this friend, and when we stayed over at his house he would always sleep in the basement on the couch with the tv on... he had a bed, but i don't think he ever actually slept in it. and the worst part was, he only got one channel (the new vr, local channel) and there wasn't even anything good on.

Since than I have met a few people who can't sleep unless they have a tv on for background noise... but I hate the tv, it always wakes me up because the background noise isn't consistant... I like to sleep with a fan on, 'cause that's just constant white noise.

the wierd part is, i've noticed that some people who sleep with the tv on always complain that they don't sleep well. i think it's 'cause they have a tv on, but apparently, they can't sleep without the tv on...

anyone here sleep with the tv on? what made you start... i don't like tv.
