(I know threads on this book have been made, but they all just talked said if they liked it or not)

This is to talk about your views on the book and if you think some of the information is possible.(aside from the facts given and the fictional parts) I personally see many things in this book make perfect sense.

they all are almost hte same. the exact story develops in both the da vinci codes and angels and demons. digital fortress is a little different, but if you read one, you can almost plan out the other in your head. they do have a good style to them though.

thats probably one of the only books i've done for a final project that i didn't want to throw out after i'd analyzed it so much. i was never very religious so i don't know most of the stories of what supposedly went on but i think everything in the book makes perfect sense

on a side note, i liked angels and demons alot more than da vinci code

Almost all the "facts" in that book are taken from a book called "The Holy Blood and the Holy Grail" which in turn was based of a set of documents known as the "Priory Documents." These documents made it seem that a man named Pierre Plantard was the direct descendant of Jesus Christ. It has since been discovered that Plantard fabricated them almost entirely.

Sorry boys, big hoax, but it's a good read all the same.

Dan Brown is a good fictional wqriter. he does his research, but he still writes fiction.

On another note, I ahve a tape from when my mom worked with him 10 years ago that is entitled 'Angels and Demons'. what's really crazy is that it's an ambigram (reads the same upsidedown and rightsideup). He tried to make it in music before he failed and went to writing. THe music isn't have bad either!

Yeah, saving yourself from a helecopter fall with a tarp is def. fiction. I love Dan Brown's writing though, even if the plots are generally the same, the books are still good.




I hate it because it looks like it should be called the Prison Shower.

the amount of research and work he puts into his books is simply amazing. I especially liked the illuminati stuff in Angels and Demons, even more especially the illuminati diamond, that was just pimp.

I loved in the da vinci code just thinking of that divine proportion that absolutely blew my mind. Since that book I have been loving legends and unsolved history, like the holy grail, and king arthur and shit like that, but that book definitely opened my eyes to a lot of shit, and it really makes you think.

Some of the facts do make sense, i really didn't think dan brown went in depth enough with the character development. You should read angels and demons by him, much better.

basicall the Da Vinchi Code is a book about the holy grail. many belive the holy grail is cup jesus drank from at the last supper. the book says that is is not that at all. It claims thatthe holy grail is mary magdolane, the wife of jesus who has been downplayed by the chaothlic church as a prostitude . It also says that jesus had a daughter and so the bloodline of jesus is still going. the priory de son is a secret organization that leanardo da vinci was the leader of that is trying to protect the bloodline from the caothlic church who wants to destroy it.

The step-by-stem checklist Dan Brown uses for writing his books:


1) Have someone die at the beginning for no real reason.

2) Have some random powerful individual/organization under threat (Pope/Catholic church or President/US government for example).

3) Throw in a conspiracy theory about that random powerful individual/organization to sell the readers.

4) Put the random powerful individual/organization in some kind of crisis. Perhaps and attack by some odd mysterious third party for example.

5) Have that main character abruptly whisked away to some secret location in a ridiculously over-fancied vehicle without knowing what the hell is going on.

6) The main character, by chance, meets secondary character of equal intelligence and of the opposite sex.

7) Characters make some fantastic breaking discovery...but are missing vital evidence.

8) The odd and mysterious third party attacks the main characters to find and/or put a stop to the fantastic breaking discovery.

9) Have a really looooong chase scene with other characters getting murdered or severely injured in the process.

10) The vital evidence is found! But it the discovery turns out to be a hoax...

11) The odd and mysterious third party is revealed to be controlled by the organization they seek to destroy or a previously friendly character.

12) Suddenly...a massive, convoluted, over-complicated, but at the same time, down right REDICULOUS plot twist that explains the whole thing and deals swift justice to the dastardly villains.

13) The main character and secondary character go off and fuck like bunnies.

The End.

the book plays out like a movie. its almost as if it was written to be a movie. very simple and straight forward. action sequences, short dialogue, im looking forward to the movie.

as much as i hate to say it, because im a fan of dan brown, quinny is right, i noticed that cast iron pattern when i read all of his books. but, i still like them. and they do fuck like bunnies.

Yeah I called out the bad guy in digital fortress about 50 pages into the book - but nonetheless, DVC and A/D are sick books, very interesting.

If you get a chance watch the "Decoding the Da Vinci Code" special on the history channel - it's really interesting and revealing.
