Helly hansen santo - opinions?

i'm looking to get this jacket for next season, anyone have it that could comment on it, warmth, comfortable, etc.?
also, what color do you have? i can't decide between the sunflower and the elmwood. i have brown pants so either would match.
lastly, how is the size? according to the hh website, i'm right between XL and XXL. my last hh jacket was XL and it was fine, if anything a little bit on the smaller side but i don't want a humonguous jacket. thanks

i know someone who has that jacket in yellow and he loves it. i don't have it myself, so can't comment much on sizing, etc, but i know my buddy really likes it.

xxl is much bigger then xl, if xl was to small, get xxl.

i found a place to buy the santo, but the yellow colored one costs $40 less than the elmwood colored one. anyone know why this is?

The yellow is not in demand.

Other than not being waterproof, like all other helly shit, it's nice. It's a shell, so it isn't warm, but that won't matter if you're riding hard.

^So your saying that all helly stiff isn't waterproof? I find it hard to believe that you've tried all of it.

^he probably knows more than you do, and its pretty well known that helly isnt the greatest waterproofers in the world so what jib_this is saying is for the most part accurate

I'm just saying that I'm sure helly makes something that is waterproof.

sounded more to me that you were taking a shot at jib_this for making an accurate statement

He said all Helly Hansen stuff is not waterproof, which I don't think is true. Unless he has a absurdly high expectation of waterproofness, I think I'm right.

i don't care about all helly hansen, does someone who has used the santo jacket know how it holds up in the snow? after this thread i'm leaning toward getting something by oakley instead (because of the waterproofing)

Oakley's not all that great either really, unless you get top-end stuff.

My cousin has the chameleon jacket, and the cojones pants. They're really nice, they even have recco discovery service. Sessions stuff is usually cheap, and high quality stuff.
