Youre internet is probably rejecting a lot of packets and being kinda slow. Reason Newschoolers works is probably because you visit the site alot so most of it is cached in your temporary internet files so it doesnt have to load as much.

How abotu re-formatting my hard drive. how hard is the entire process, and how long will it take, or how much will it cost?

go buy an external HDD and do a backup of all your data if you like. if you dont have that much shit then burn some dvd's with data.

go into start, run... then type cmd

this takes you to the command prompt. then once in that type "format c:" or whatever the local drive is.

that will format the drive and leave it blank. then boot up with the win xp cd or a boot disc for ur operating system and run "fdisk" to create partitions in the drive. i like to put windows on a separate 10GB partition so when things like this happen you can just format the windows partions and de-frag the programs and shit you apply. its saves you from having to burn copies of all yur data. if you make a 10GB partition, install windows on that and make the rest of the drive your programs partition.

and windows take maybe 30-45min to install depending on speed and when ur installing.

simple process if you ask me

umm... or you could not use "format c:" because as you might have noticed, it won't work while your running windows. heh. if you really wanted to delete everything while in windows you could use the del command to force unmount everything as you delete it... but there's no point. and it would probably take a long time.

i personally recommend that you just pop in your xp disk and run the installer (after you've backed up of course). basically what will happen when you run through that procedure, it will overwrite everything you had on your hdd before.

and don't bother with fdisk (and you probably couldn't get there anyways with his instructions - no offense dloc...), the built in partition management in the xp pro installer is sufficient for what you need. shoot me a msg if you have any questions, or as always, for any hatemail.
