BURLINGTON, UVM, and people nearby ICE RINK PARK FOR SUMMER/FALL

I just got this email and im pumped to come back to school, if you live nearby help this guy out
.............this Summer for a competition this Fall? Tired of dragging snow all over campus to only make a couple runs before getting chased off
by the police? Like to show your stuff to a crowd of spectators in a sanctioned competition, and maybe walk away with some awesome goodies?
There is a new double ice rink being built 15 miles North of UVM just off of I89 in Milton. The ground was broke last week. They are planning to
have one sheet of ice operational by August, and the other by October. This means there will be snow available in August/September when
most of you return to school.
I have been talking to the owner about setting up a terrain park, and he is definitely interested. He watched the competition last November in
Downtown Burlington and was impressed. The excavation is happening right now. If we want to have something set up for the Fall, I would like to
have any interested individuals contact me ASAP, so we can meet at the site some evening and start making plans.
When was the last time someone came to you and said "I'll give you a site. I'll help you acquire the materials. I'll let you design whatever you like
(be reasonable, we won't be able to duplicate Steamboat Springs). I'll give you all the snow you want..........in August. I'll let you organize a
competition on this site designed and built by you. I'll make sure all your friends have affordable and safe transportation to and from the site. I'll
arrange for liability insurance coverage. I won't make you haul your own snow. Is there anything else you need that I can help you with?". So? When was the last time someone said all the above to you.............and was stone sober and meant it? Give me a reply ASAP if you're interested. Any questions or concerns will be addressed immediately. Think Snow!!!

The ultimate goal is have a jibpark open all the time during the offseason, however right now they are looking into how realistic that is. One option they are considering is doing a series of events, to see the amount of interest and how much snow they actually have to work with.

Update - Things are at a bit of a standstill right now. Excavation of the parking lot is taking place and will be going on for a couple more weeks at least. I'm waiting to hear back from the owner as to where he wants to go from here. I have checked out the site and it has a spot with a 40-50 foot vertical drop over 150 feet horizontal. There's a natural canopy of trees to keep the sun out which would give the snow more staying power. Another thought I've had is to put some small chiller pads down which would keep the ground frozen from underneath. Most rinks need a backup chiller in case the main chiller goes down. The backup chiller sits idle until needed, or is alternated in and out of service. Why not put it to use? I'm hoping some big names will step up and offer some support. Burton, Rosignol, maybe some chiller manufacturers. This idea could be put to use anywhere. It doesn't have to be Milton VT.
Let's say a site is developed and it's successful, any chiller manufacturer could use this as a selling point for future new construction or addition to any pre-existing rinks. Get the word out. It can be built anywhere. We have the interest of skiers and riders, now we just need the support of a few businesses.

We're hoping for year-round. It would be nothing to keep open in the Winter, and fairly easy to keep open in the heat of Summer if designed with chiller pads on the take-off and landing spots, and chiller pads under the rails.

so would this be going down, if all works out, by late august of this year?

It may be too late to get it going for Summer of this year. I would hope for October at this point and have it fully operational for all of next Summer
