Oakley lab pants or predator cargo pants? Oakley looks cool but has 4000 mm waterproof-ness, predator not as cool but has 20000 mm waterproof-ness for about the same price

it all location , if i lived in socal i woul dbuy the oakley puffy pant because the snow is dry and it dosent rain much, however i live in washington so waterproof is important

just curious.. does anyone know what the levels of waterproofness actually mean? i've been wondering what the actual differance might be between, say, 4,000 or 10,000 mm. doesn't waterproof mean waterPROOF? and where might gore-tex be on this scale of milimeters?

i loved the royal tenenaums.

2000 mm is where it starts to be waterproof, and those jackets are mainly light weight , and 10000 is a less breathable more waterproof jacket with taped seams usually, goretex is 40000 mm resistant

it doesnt matter at all, its like LINE has a 'true twin tip' as long as theres something there, youre covered.

good to know. i just got some oakley balistic pants that are 25,000mm. sounds like that will suffice. they feel great, i hope they are breathable enough.

yeah i've chosen predator, they're a smaller company need my money more, they are really nice people too, so this is my 3rd year on predator pants, they ought to give me a medal

ok, this is how we explained it at my old shop. take a tube that's an inch around or so, and it will take 2000, 10000, etc mm of water poured in the tube until the water starts to seep through. the reps from north face, helly hanson and columbia all said the exact same thing. hope it helps.
