ACL Reconstruction Rehabilitation BIBLE!

About three weeks ago i had surgery to reconstruct my acl. The doctor who preformed the surgery happened to be a team doctor for  the Boston Redsox, Patriots, Bruins and Celtics.  Below i have posted a link to the rehabilitation packet i was given. 

The packet describes:
-the injury
-the surgical process
-the rehabilitation guidelines from 1 week after surgery to 24 weeks after surgery
-descriptions of each exercise

That is actually a very good resource.  I am about to start a project with my job on producing literature on preventing Knee Injuries in skiing. correcting bad form, leg exercises, correct falling techiques, proper equipment etc etc, we are aiming for it to be done by next ski season, il post it when we are done with it.

Solid post. You can never have too many resources when starting a recovery from a big injury. Looks like their site has a lot of legit information about numerous injuries listed on this page: http://www2.massgeneral.org/sports/protocols.html

Wow..this really makes me never ever want to tear my acl.

One of the things I am so scared off...almost tore it a week or so ago and now I am super paranoid.

i dont know where you're planning on doing rehab, but i had the same doctor and used their sports rehab facility (right across the hall from the doctors' offices). It worked really well, i had this really nice guy named Garth, he had me back on my feet in no time. Phil Kessel was there working on his shoulder while i was there too, pretty cool

yeah its not fun at all, if i were you i would look into a brace for the knee you almost tore.. you can never be to cautious

Bump because the link moved and I just tore mine and I'm in the area. Who did your surgery? I'm contemplating trying to go to Dr Busconi at Umass Memorial as he did my friends ACL and I saw him when I tore my MCL a few years ago. Also if its not too much trouble could you locate the packet you linked before.

Wow my bad on bumping a 4 year old thread. Google search said the date was April this year and I didn't bother to check on here.

I tore my acl 4 years ago and never got the surgery. Two weeks ago I tore my mcl most likely because of it. Starting to regret it but im terrified of surgery.
