who knows for this weekend
They will be open tomorrow for Vet. Day. Then they will close for Thrus/Fri for snowmaking with hopes of opening back up for the weekend.

It's all about whether they want to go through the craziness of making a shitload of snow in a short time. They are limited by the amount of water they can pump at a certain time and by the number of guns they have, not to mention this fucking stupid shitty weather. So if they want to put a ton of man power and money into blowing the bottom trails in the middle of the night three nights in a row, one of which being fri night (meaning all that shit has to get groomed after being blown before opening) then they will open with features and it will be most radtacular. If they don't feel as though all that effort will get them a good dollar return, they simply won't do it.
However, I think that if they put in the effort and announced an opening on thur or even fri, a shitload of people would come and they would make some bank. If not, we're all just going to go up to Killy and give them our money again...

The tentative opening day is the 21st. But it all depends on the weather. Capurnicus
made a few good points, where we do have semi-limited water, and it costs a bunch of money to run the guns.
Our opening weekend back in mid October worked out because it was really really cold that week, and we were only blowing 9 guns on Launch Pad. Our next plan is Nitro, Long John, and a few other sizable trails.
We blew snow like crazy in the upper sections of the mountain last week, and after two nights gave up because the weather shifted and totally screwed us. We're super antsy here at Mount Snow too, we want to open and make all of our skiers and riders happy. I'll try to stay on top of these forums, so that you guys aren't playing a constant guessing game.
