maybe the universe is just a neuron? for example, imagine zooming way in to a neuron in your body and seeing it become it's own separate universe. each neuron is a different universe. now zoom way out and now we look at our universe as a neuron in a bigger, more complex body than our own. now multiply this phenomenon by every other human. we each contain these universes encapsulated by each atom and each cell. and then add all the rest of the organisms that exist, including bacterium. now at that scale, try to fathom what could exist within each particle of matter in the world, or in our universe, taking into consideration what may be added by the immensely probable existence of other life-supporting planets from the many galaxies that exist. then zoom to a perspective that shows all the other universes acting as neurons in a greater body.......then we must figure out what exists within abiotic matter.

there is no way we are the only ones out there, space is simply to huge for us to be the only advanced living organisms. The key to traveling through space is creating a rift which can drastically shorten the distance need to be travelled. Picture sapce as piece of paper and draw a dot at seperate ends. The distance is quite long to travel, but now fold the paper in half and you are virtually there. That is the concept of rifts in short. However we do not posses the technology or energy to do so and time in the near future.

Even if somebody else did find us, how could they contact us. As far as I know, we can't contact somebody that's lightyears away. Even if we sent radio signals or something, they probably won't understand them. We can't just sit there and shine a light at them either.
And whoever else said something about them not breathing air or whatever, I agree. What if their planet's atmosphere is poison gas to us, but they breathe it fine, and oxygen was bad for them. They would say our planet is incapable of supporting life. Obviously, if a planet has something poison to us, we call it incapable of supporting life, but it's really only incapable of supporting an organism from earth.

Yes thank you haha! This is the point i was about to make. We're looking so far away that we're actually looking into the past. The human race is only a few thousand years old right? The list goes on and turns out our solar system and planet combo is extremely rare in the universe. That being said the shear size of the universe yields the statistical possibility that there must be intelligent life out there. This I can say for sure beyond a statistical doubt. However again remember that out of our planets 6 billion year we have been here for 1 million if you are extremely generous on what you call intelligent life. That is like 4 days of your life if you live to be 80 years old. All of human evolution, wars, poems, everything taking place in 2 days of your life.
So There is intelligent life out there but even if there is the universe is so vast, and on such a large time scale that the possibility of a class 3 civilization, if they even give a shit about us, coming into contact with us, when we exist, for the 2 days of life, out on the edge of the universe, with nothing to offer...
