Subject: Best Resorts in Michigan...mainly based off their parks.
Im planning on going up to MI this winter and I have been to Boyne in the past but I was wanting to know where the best places to go are for park riding. I heard Marquette is good, but let me know.
Marquette is killer, but its one hell of a long drive.

Nubs Nob has a lot of features (rails). Their superpipe has its own tow rope. They have no jump line though. Go to Boyne if you want to hit jumps.
Crystal is the closest resort to southern michigan that has its own pipe, and a medicore terrain park.

Marquette Mountain has the best jump line/Jumps in Michigan. They also have a pretty good selection of rail features. It is a long drive but it is definitely worth it. Other than that Nubs and Boyne are pretty good.
If you live downstate you should go to Cannonsburg, they usually have 1 decent jump and a handful of rails set up.

bittersweet has some sick skiers and there park has potetial. the jumps mostly suck but the rails are dope.

cannonsburg is awesome for offering enough for people to progress on that is for sure.
if you're gonna go a ways don't rule out schuss, its rails and shit were sick last year, plus a few cool jumps. plus its usually cheap

nubs has some sick rails. And the superpipe is as good and brekinridges. Its my home mountian and i love it
sick. It sounds like ill at least go as far north as boyne highlands and nubs...it would be nice to make it to marquette.
I don't know anything about the downstate parks, but up north, these are my thoughts
Boyne Mt- park is getting better now, new crew, new ideas,.. superpipe, lots iof rails, a beginner park and a boardercross.
boyne Highlands- 13' pipe, wallrrides, lots of rails/boxes, well maintained, 4 parks with a long boardercross
Crystal- never been there
Schuss/Shanty- 13' pipe, 3 parks at Schuss, 1 large, 1 small/med, and a area that changes though out the year, well maintained, good setups, a 3 sometimes 4 tabletop jump line, a variety or rails, dedicated park crew, on duty everyday . Summit will have one top to bottom run, with several rails and jumps this year. cheap- $5 wed nights, 4 for $40 Mondays, $10 at the Summit (Shanty) everyday its open(fri, sat, sun only)
Otsego- better know some one $$$$- heard its badass. late in the season they offer public night skiing one or two night a week on 50% of their terrain
Nubs- perfect superpipe, plenty rails and boxes, lacking in a jump line. Plus a small boardercross. Nice park sometimes the approches are hard to use.
I think all the areas are stepping up their parks again this year, and all offer different ideas and the way the parks feel.

Marquette and Boyne are sick, but Otsego takes the cake as far as park goes
there's NO way brule can actually open on friday. I'm up in Houghton and its like 55 outside today, unless it gets mad cold like, now, brule will have either the shittiest opening day ever. or they'll have to delay the opener.

Stuck in the midwest...
Brule had some huge jumps like... maybe 40-50 foot tables which is big for the midwest last year but their rails are terrible. so if you like all around park go to MM but short lift lines and nice jumps then brules the spot
I still like Boyne.
Its the best deal in Michigan. Highlands and Mountain for $249 if you are a college student, and between those 2 ski hills you ought to find enough park to wet your appetite.
I still like skiing at Nubs Nob though myself. My first "powder day" in Michigan was at Nubs Nob and it had dumped probably like 7-8 inches. The whole place had tons of untracked snow, and more gladed runs than anywhere else. Tons of space to find your own place and ski. And everything wasn't all tracked out in like 2 hours except for runs under the orange chairs and I forgot what else.
I thought the park had a shitload of rails and other features. No jumps, and I never tried the pipe at Nubs.
