I'm gonna buy a pair of 189 bents, and i just would like to know how they're gonna ski on groomers...
i've heard they do all right because of the non rockered section, but i'm not sure if i believe it.

thanks for your answers
beat drops like a bomb but i'm feelin real calm, smokin dank in the woods that shit goes on and on if you think you can front on me, you must be delirious, i'll put you in the hospital with a wound thats real serious, its natural to be curious but my hyphiness is at a peak, i ride with a bandana on my face so i got mystique. courtesy of Steezemeister

if you know how to ski they're okay, not the greatest but they'll get you down the hill.

well they suck but for a fat rockered ski they aren't horrible, you can only really slide around, no carving

You won't want to ride them on groomers, you can ride them.  I took mine through the pipe a few times and also through the jumpline.  They just don't preform all that well with out soft snow, slush is pretty fun as well.  Get them they will change your pow skiing for the better but don't trade in your park sticks

you would probably have a better time using water skis then using hellbents on groomers. They pretty much suck on anything thats not 3ft of pow

Not to call you out... but hopefully you aren't serious. Maybe I miss-read sarcasm

They are really not that bad on groomers at all. They are a little awkward to get used to, but it's not bad.

and they are the best skis ever in anything from 4 inches of wet heavy snow to infinitely deep powder and everything in between. I skied them all spring in the slush and took plenty of park laps on them.

i ski my 179 hellbents just fine on anything that isn't super super hardpack or ice.

it just takes some getting used to, but i will admit they are pretty shitty in pipe.

Will you make it down? Yes
Will they "perform well" on the groomers? No, they aren't designed for that. They are pretty agile for something so large and they aren't as terrible as some reverse camber skis, but don't expect a GS ski

haha you took hellbents in a pipe? bet that was fun. but hellbents are pretty good on the groomers a lot better than most fat rockered skis, hell some kids used them as park skis i wouldnt reccomend it though

I guess they will be better than ice skates on groomers..don't expect much though, they obviously aren't really designed for that.

Hahah

and actually, I think that they are faster and easier to rip across traverses. A lot smoother when it gets really choppy.

you can rail hellbents on groomers if you want to, takes a slightly wider stance but they rip and yes they do have quite a large stopping distance so you need to think 2 or 3 seconds ahead, all in all though a pretty versatile ski for something with so much rocker.

you've clearly never ridden them....you can carve all day on a groomed trail on hellbents....

if you're not a retard, you can ski them all over fine. if you can't ski correctly, i wouldn't get them...

It's kinda like driving a lifted truck in europe.  A lot of people will be looking at your weird, you wont be able to make some turns, and you wont be able to park them anywhere.

You WILL be able to crush people and all other cars/mopeds though.

They rock on groomers. The only hard part (with 189s) is that they are big and heavy. But you can do whatever you want with them. I've ridden mine everywhere. They're really fun on rails, just cuz they're friggin huge. A 270 on an urban style is something else, but you can still do it. It's just different. I like taking them in the park every once and a while, just cuz it's fun. And for some reason they get LOADS of pop off jumps. I overshot a jump really bad when I first got them. I felt like they popped and cought the wind and I flew through the air like an olympic jumper haha. It was intense.

I love mine, but the 189 (really 194.5) is really big. Something a tad smaller might be better. I don't remember but did they make them actually 189 for the new model?

i would go for something smaller, but i'm 5'11'' and 185 lbs, so.... kind of a big guy.

They are still measured the same. they are still amazing.

and yes, you can carve them on groomers. it's not anything like regular skis, but if you have good technique they hold an edge fine.

I prefer my hellbents over my park skis on groomers because i have kept my hellbents off of rails so the edges are nice. I have 189's, and they handle just fine on groomers.
