Newschoolers.com should make a movie. Have the illist kids send in some sick stuff to a couple of really good editors, they edit all the suff together, we get the pros on this site to send in a small bit of skiing, and we sell it to promote the site and get money for it or just put it on newschoolers and it could be a present to newschooler members, so you have to join to see the movie. What do you think?
I dont think NS needs to make a movie because there are so many other movie companies out there...and plus they are too busy covering events with video coverages which is time consuming and what NS is suppose to do...I think they are doing good without a movie and having a movie wouldnt bee good
I know but this movie would show the skiers sick on NS, just like a clip or 2 of one, not like a whole parton one guy. Maybe a short whole part on some of the really ill skiers here. It would be a new breed of video to seeing as were only showing a clip of one guy at a time.
that idea is just like ghetoo candies "area code" comming out. they went around to mts. and crews all over and filmed them, so you'll get the best of each area. gunna be dope
you know what would be cool, is if they actually sent filmers to different locations, that had good cameras, to keep handy cam footage to a minimum. But actually have a few good filmers/editers that were dedicated to some sort of project like this for a full year!
or you could only take the parts taken from a decent camra. I like the idea of guys going around and filming, but have like one or 2 guys film from one area. Like have 2 guys for new engalnd, 3 guys for midwest, 2 guys for west, 1 guy for east coast other than newengland, 1 or 2 guys for alaska, 3 guys for canada's west, 2 guys for canada east, and a couple guys from europe.
too expensive! I'd rather see 2 or 3 filmers/editers work on a project like this. Still do all the travel, but that way you have a more reliable product/footage in the end.
Too unorganized too. That means like 16 ppl have to agree on 1) music, 2) order of athletes 3) athlete intros 4) choosing a set amount of athletes cuz theres so many pl will want and we dont want this movie a week long and getting good sponsors and crap
Like i said before what they should do is have 2 or 3 dedicated to a project like this for a year. All owning their own Prosumer cameras. And sending them around the country together and having organized Park Shoots / BC endeavors / Urban sessions. That way there is a consitency in Quality, and Product. And you have a few good angles. Then in the summer having these guys/girls sit down and put together a movie for NS. In my opinion it would be a rad idea. But it has to be done right.
You need to make sure you have the athletes in place and willing to work on a project like this. Another cool thing that could come from an NS movie is that all of NS should be involved. Only athletes on this site, and only filmers/editors from the site. Reason being you'll have kids and folks that know what everyone wants to see. And athletes from the site so they're people you are in the forums with on a daily basis!
One idea could be have a few kids cover each regions of the country. Like split New England with like maybe 10 different filmers and have them each go to certain mountains.
I dont like the idea at all. To hire 3 kids to go around and film with legitament cameras will cost a bit more money then you think. I overall just think the Idea is dumb. Also everyone whos real good on NS is in a film crew, and will probably be releasing a video, so just support that.
no i know what it will cost, but its better to spend the money and get a sure product then spend the money and get a half ass movie w/ submissions from everyone and there mom's Mini DV handycams.
