Last Monday CoreUPT gave the NS community the opportunity to ask anything they wanted about the company in a thread in ski gabber, and said that after reviewing the questions they would make a video with the answers. Over the course of the last week, hundreds upon hundreds of questions were asked about the most talked about new ski company of the year, and as a result the boys from CoreUPT were both stoked and overwhelmed. So much so that they couldn't answer all the questions in one video, so they made five parts. So without further ado, here is your chance to get to know a little bit more about CoreUPT, courtesy of the brainchild of the company, pro skier Guerlain Chicherit...

and coreupt...are you, or are you not, owned by dynastar? or was the molds simply a contract type thing to get you started in the right direction?
thanks for answering some questions!
know we know!
a little off topic but my two cents
I like seeing other company representatives get their opinions out there. Just another beauty of the internet.
All in all, I personally as a skier, believe “the more the merrier”, but only when more means more of something new, and different that contributes to the good of the whole by providing something that doesn’t already exist. I think this statement summarizes the underlying cause for the feeling of the community still needing an answer.
So here’s the underlying question in it’s simplest form that I hope you can answer through your day to day actions and not endless news stories: WHAT MAKES COREUPT DIFFERENT?
Please keep in mind that we already know who makes your skis, who you pay to ride your products, you like skiing a lot, you think making a company like Armada
Thanks,
J
Thanks to both of you guys for putting that question out there again - what are you going to do different? What makes Coreupt any better than anything else out there?
-On the other hand, I do see the company may need to solidify itself in terms of perception and brand in order to make money to do something different. Not everyone is poised to do what you did J - you put in so much more with so much less. It's a risk I wouldn't take right now.
oh and where does the $ come from?
To JLev and everyone else stating this question to so many others. Why is everyone so concerned that a new company has something different to offer? 4Frnt didn't. Armada didn't. None of those companies came out with any crazy designs for years. Hell, 4Frnt still hasnt (aside from the EHP but that ski doesn't appeal to most NSers).
All they had that was different was image. So maybe, for the first year, that is what Coreupt is doing. Then, just like others, next year (when they have their own molds), they will come out with new shapes (He already said a rockered ski is coming next year).
JLev, I understand if you have concern about too many brands, but the others (the customers!), you should be stoked for competition. Competition is better for prices, quality, and selection. Sure you could say that some brand, with a really cool image, and nice owners, will go under. Most likely, they were doing something wrong.
And to finish off, JLev, Line is my favourite brand out there because of your new ideas and ways of operations. You're doing everything right.
Awesome to see J chiming in with his thoughts. Nothing but love for Line on NS.
yiah, credit to these guys , seem pretty sound
As for rebranding things. I am going to start a thread on it just so people can see how often it happens. It's not a bad thing, funny, but if you understand the costs of producing such stuff it makes complete sense.

as i said i would, if you care.
not that theres anything wrong with quik helping you out, just wanna know
well said
your core becauseeeee?
Of course coreUPT has cash from somewhere, and it's likely that these bills are being paid by Quiksilver, since they own half the ski and snowboard-world anyway, and def has a lot of connections to the once involved.
Yes the coreUPT skis are dead on the same as Dynastar by size and shape, might be different flex though, who knows.
When it comes to "bringing new stuff to the scene" 4frnt and Armada actually did. Even though their skis mainly had familiar shapes, their flex-patterns were different. Yes, Elan made Armada skis, but that was a few years ago, but where skis are made are more a matter of cost - quality and expertise, cause u don’t have to use the existing molds that the manufacturer has in stock, even though that is way cheaper.
coreUPT might be a new instrument for Quiksilver to earn money, but as long as they put money into our sport, pay wages to good inspiring athletes and make things happen, bringing life to the NS forum for instance, then I say "welcome"!
If they also start to make new interesting skis for their kick-ass team, that's a bonus!
Genius answering the questions like this. well played kind sir.
You should perhaps think about partnering up with other "core" companies who are working towards the same goal.
Hats off to you for being so hands on with answering questions and hitting people back when they post, i wish you all the best.
