Most people are going to say GoPro. I have one and its sick.

the only stand out bonus of the contourhd is the goggle strap  mount. this is only cause i want to wear this at a party one time. i think it would be hilarious

i have a contour and i think its better because it looks sexier, not like a brick on ur head, when you stomp landings it doesnt fall down like the go pro occasionally does, its not fully waterproof but its extremely resistant and theres a full waterproof case you can get for it as long as other accesories. its very durable it has seen its fair share of abuse and it doesnt have a single scratch. and its easy to use, one cable that uploads vidoes and charges it, easy to access cable port and battery compartment, you can also mount it on top of your head because you can twist the lens (this is not zoom like many people think) a single switc to record and shut off (for power theres a button on the back) the goggle mount is very usefull and it also makes it much more versitile than the go pro because if your scuba diving you can mount it to your mask if u have the waterproof case, also you dont need to buy more t rails you can just switch the goggle mount from ski, to bmx, to scuba, extremely easy, on the flip side, you can buy more t rails that mount to almost anything (longboards, surfboards, etc) i also use it just as a handheld video camera sometimes because it is extremely high quality and it is comfortable in the hand. it is also equipped with two lasers, so you can see where the camera is pointed. youl have to look closely in snow but it is easy to see in dirt for biking and wutnot. hope this helped i really love this camera! definately worth the money.i dont go up a single day without it. unless im teachin the little shit rippers how to shred.

main difference you'll be able to see is the wideness of the lense. 135 (contour) vs 170 (gopro). In a nutshell, the gopro is going to look more stable because it has a wider lense, but quality wise, the two are pretty similar. I find watching headcam footage from the gopro easier on the eyes because of this wide view. It mimics what i see out of my eyes, seeing all around rather than closing in on a smaller area

yeah im debating the same thing, and i like the goggle strap mount on the contour, because you dont have to stick the big plastic thing to your helmet for the go pro

You can always get the head lamp style strap thing.

google strap mount is shit. I have an contour and its not secured to your head so it flops around making for a really jittery video. I switched to the helmet mount and it works much better. Anyways, i've got the contour and love it, and personally i think the camera itself looks better and takes better videos than the go pro, while the go pro has more accessories,mounting options and can take pictures.

get the GoPro HD. i love mine. the quality is pretty good and it is very durable.

I have a gopro its beautiful. its awesome because it is very steady with the mild fisheye lens. also its cheap to fix it. ITS THE BOMB
