PX12 or Griffon or Z12 Ti

I'm getting new bindings this year and I could use suggestions/advice about the bindings listed. I'm 5'8'', 120 pounds, only riding park (I live in the midwest). What binding would work best for me?

I just preordered my ON3P blue steeles and since they are very light im going to match them with the Solly Z12 Ti which are really really light. Lightest binding on the market I believe. So if you are going with a light set up get the salomon. PX12 are heavy and bulky. I don't know much about the griffon though.

What place do you ski at? I go to either Mad River or Bsweet. I live in Fort Wayne

for the price px12, griffons are good but have slight durability problems

I've only had griffons out of all 3 of those, but I don't know if I can recommend them. I currently have had them for 2 seasons and I have never had 1 issue with them ever. They are awesome for me and some of my friends, but others I know hate them. One of my friends broke his almost every weekend, until he got sth14s. So it seems like it's hit or miss with griffons

I have Chronics which are very light also, might go with the Z12 Ti's, though I have heard they have some durability issues.

You probably haven't heard of it, but I ski at Wild Mountain in MN.

The PX12 is the heaviest of the three, and will probably be the most durable.

The Z12 ti is the lighest, but it's also the least durable. I've seen these break all the time, not something I would recommend to anyone unless they are super lightweight and not that aggressive.

Griffon is kind of in the middle of the two. its still very lightweight, and it's definitely stronger than the Z12, but still uses a lot of plastic.

If you want something lighter. get the griffon, if not get the PX12. You will be happy with both @ 120lbs.

i personally really like the griffons. they probably have the best weight to durability ratio. i have them and have never have a problem. i ski hard and am 6 foot 4 inches 240 lbs

Don't ever go with Z-series bindings man. I went through two pairs, one pair of Z10's and a pair of Z12 Tis, in one season. And I'm only 5'7 130. So if you're gonna get anything from Solly, get the STHs.

So... choose from the other two.

^these guys know what they are talking about. if you want a binding that will give you a bloody nose for doing a 180 off a roller or that will pop out if you go off a jump, get the Z series. but honestly if you can spend the money get the griffon, but if not get the px12s; i am getting those and i have heard great things about them because of all their elastic travel (ability to move and not have bad, knee-hurting falls). the only bad thing i have heard about the px12's is their weight. but go to the gym and run on a treadmil for an hour every other day or something and the extra pound of the bindings wont matter!!!

No no no please don't destroy you BS by mounting that shitty binding on it.
Those bindings are so fucking terrible i cant believe they can advertise them for aggressive skiing. They prerelease all the time, crack and the brakes are terrible.

Now i don't know if you ride a low or high din you ride but at least put something more decent on them like griffons or tyrolia's.

PX 12 Jib = 1280g
Griffon = 950g

why does it matter? the weight diff is gonna be so minimal it doesnt matter.

honestly people, why do you always complain about binding weight on park skis? it really doesnt make a big diff. on a touring set up, yes it matters, because you dont want to be lugging extra weight for hours on end. but in the park the extent you will be hiking will be a little walk up past a rail, and if your concerned about your skis being to heavy then you need to join a gym and lift some weights. So a binding weighs a tad bit more, chances are it is a better built, more reliable binding then. Look at the diff between jesters and sth 16s. jesters are utter garbage compared to the sth, and the weight diff is so minimal, so why go with the worse binding? same thing goes for griffons and px12, the only issue i ever hear people complain about with px12s is that they break there brakes. thats not the binding's fault, thats the owner/tech's fault for using tom wide of brakes or doing a really bad bend job. So stop asking about binding weight unless you are talking about AT bidings, because it doesnt matter

My 2 year personal experience with the griffon has been not so great, broke the heelpiece twice and the toepiece once, yeah they were replaced under warranty but i was left without bindings mid-season, and the heelpieces came back with way wider brakes on them that drag in the snow if I turn hard and get bent every time I crash landing switch so that it makes the ski unusable.

I had a binding that was very similar to the Z12 also, the salomon Z10's or something like that, they sucked and were impossible to clip into unless the heelpiece was free of any amount of snow, crash and you have to spend 3 minutes cleaning snow out of the heelpieces before you can clip back in.

Overall, PX12s definitely. You wont notice the weight difference between them and the griffons, it doesn't matter that much, go and work out at the gym if you want to spin faster/easier.

mrstskier and brakes know what they are talking about. i had bindings similar to the z10 and if you got any slop in the back of the binding you could not get into your bindings. get the px12s and if you are having problems because they are 300 grams heavier than the griffons then go to the gym and do some miles on the treadmill haha
