Seth Morrison is cut from the K2 Skis factory team. He's not listed on their website nor is it listed as a sponsor on his.

philskierLooks like there may be a bigger issue at hand.
Check out the SGB article linked by Powder:
https://sgbonline.com/newell-brands-to-close-some-businesses-this-year/
K2/Volkl's parent company is looking to divest in businesses that generate $250 to $300 million in annual revenue. In reference to these businesses their CEO says: "Some of them are the kinds of businesses that would be difficult to sell and therefore, we should just shut down because they create no value for you and they are a distraction for us.”
It would be shitty to see an icon like K2 buried without a chance to be sold...

TheDoughAbidesOr potential opportunity...
radishI drooled over the original Seth pistols. I'm interested to hear more about this
j.w.vIn before we see many more dropped from K2 within the next year. A wack company will always remain a wack company. Let's just hope this doesn't trickle down and affect Line in any way, I doubt it will though
S.J.WNo it definitely will. Newell Rubbermaid bought out Jarden sports and they want to sell off the entire winter sports division. So unless someone buys the winter sports as a whole for a cool 2.8 billion, or sections like either Line, Full Tilt, Volkl, etc. Those companies could be in a lot of trouble. Either way, if you're planning on buying anything from Line, Full tilt, Volkl,Marker, etc buy it fucking now.

TOAST.If full tilt, dalbello, and marker go that is a huge void in boot and binding options. Even if they shut the doors for all of them, I'd imagine somebody would end up with the molds. There's plenty of ski companies to take place of k2 and line, but boots/bindings are another story
HaydenWrongI wonder how many un drilled sets he has laying around... we need to get our mitts on those OG planks
soupthose OG seths are my daily drivers. same dimensions as the E'Dollo ski. man was ahead of his time.

j.w.vIf I'm reading this correctly, wouldn't all of the brands which K2 owned including FT, Dalbello, Volkl and Line all be affected by this same business decision?
Looks like we have a bigger potential threat to consider here
FKS_HEEL_PIECEbrb, gonna go buy enough dalbello's to last me 30 years
chiefclulMaybe this is a good opportunity for smaller companies to fill the void that will be created if K2 is gone, I love their gear and all but it may not stick around.
Another possible chance that w/ the major brands gone that jerrys buy from = less jerrys??
ParryWithAnAScary stuff.
I was just talking to the Line dude and it's business as usual. We are still driving the van and have TC trips planned. Seth being cut sucks, but K2 has historically had an expensive team and when someone isnt selling skis anymore it's hard to justify paying them.
CaseyI was wondering if Seth was getting phased out simply because they stopped doing Seth inspired names on his skis. Like yeah the Annex and pinnacle 118 had his signature on it, but the narrower ones didn't. He even said in an interview he liked his older ski better. I just wish he would produce some content once in awhile.
SessionI don't think you quite get it. This isn't about skiers and teams and how much they cost. It is about the Newell (who bought Jarden) selling or simply killing off companies it inherited with the Jarden merger. Basically if they can't use it to sell product through Wal-Mart or K-mart, it is of no value to them, and their investors. If it doesn't make a truckload of money they don't fucking care about it.

THEDIRTYBUBBLE^^^Stockpile Full Tilts?
MinggLess Jerrys = Less money in freeskiing.
grilled_cheeseAre they looking at getting rid of K2 as a brand, or K2 sports all together?
If its K2 sports, we'd lose all of these brands, plus several snowboard, XC ski and footwear/outerwear brands I didn't list
K2 Skis
K2 Skates
Marker
LINE
Full Tilt – Ski boots
I'm 99% sure they own Dalbello and Volkl too, seeing that they own marker

skiermanIts true. Time to grow up, kids. Seth Morrison is just a glorified powder skier now who never sends cliffs anymore. You can't expect him to be paid 60k a year just so he can ski around like every other nub out there. Seth Morrison sucks now so he's going to be sponsored by ski companies that historically sponsor shitty skiers, like ON3P or Bluehouse.

SchwagsAlways knew the day would come that the core brands would sell out to overlords that want power. and here it is.
TSBalso
BCA avy gear
Madshus XC skis
Marmot clothes n' tents
5150 Snowboards
Emma_Watsonalso,
less money in freeskiing = less jerrys
this is a useful constant
soupthis could be dark. if k2 and all those companies are not all ready out on their own, then they aint making money. there was an interview or a podcast or something with J.Lev talking about how he knows for a fact the only ski companies making money right now are armada and Line. the rest are owned by investors and rely heavily on their deep pockets to keep the ship rolling. and what high roller investor who owns a fucking tupperware company is going to want to spend money in an industry heavily dependant on weather and seasons that are getting shorter and shorter.
im worried here. for the industry as a whole.

wrichmondSoup what podcast?
According to the Rubbermaid investor's statement, the companies are scheduled to be cut/sold because their revenue (250-350million) was too low for the conglomerate, not that they are losing money.
