Raichle ski boots

Alright I just got these at a ski swap. I thought they we're cool because they're like Full Tilt Classics except they're old!

I know nothing about this company or what happened to it but I noticed that this ski boots looks almost exactly the same as the red Full tilt classic boot, even some details are the same.

So I would love to know everything that you know about this company. How much are they worth, do people want these, do people still use these, etc. Heck if your great uncle had some and he died and you got them-I want to know. If you're interested in buying them, let me know. I'm not specifically trying to sell them though, I just want to know about them. I've super interested in old ski gear ever since I got these.

they are almost exactly the same boot. raichle went under, and a few years later somebody bought the molds/patents and brought them back as full tilts, so the molds are exactly the same

the liners arent as good (older/not as advanced) but the shells are esentially the same. resale isnt too high on them as they are just really fuckin old full tilts

Awesome.

Yeah I noticed that the liners are pretty much worthless..super uncomfortable and not soft.

Can you buy new liners for them? I looked on Full Tilt's website and the only liners I saw were $180.

my uncle had a pair, said he liked them even better than the new FT's he owns now.

they use intuition liners and they come in 3 price points i believe. not exactly cheap (couple hundred bucks) but always cheaper then a brand new set of boots. That is if your shell and soles are in decent shape...

My understanding is that rights to the 3 piece shell patent were passed from Raichle --> Dalbello --> FT.

No, canadian freestyle team bought all of the molds, then jason went over and bought it from them creating full tilt.

Right!?

These things are sick, like a super cheap version of Full Tilt. They feel soo light and I love how they fit!

Although I don't like the smell of mothballs, it will go away. And I found a granola bar in one of them that expired on October 20th, 2006 haha.

I've heard tales of the plastic in old ski boots shattering. Never seen it happen myself, so I can't say how common it is but it would make me nervous to ride a pair of boots that's 20+ years old.

The plastic dries out over time so it could definitely crack/shatter under the right conditions, especially with the older plastics that were used back then.

It's not even the plastic drying out, so much as UV rays from the sun making the plastic brittle. I've seen multiple pairs of the old Raichle boots that have literally exploded while someone was skiing in them, causing injuries in a couple.

OP, keep the boots for a gaper day or something, but get a real pair of boots for regular skiing, for your own safety.

Thanks for the advice! I have some spk's for everyday use. So it's probably not the best idea to use them for park? I also have a friend who said he'd pay me $75 for them but he skis park too and I don't want them shattering on him.

yeah i guess drying out was a bad choice of words. brittle is a much better way of describing it.

Be careful on buying liners because not all inuition liners will fit raichle flexons

surprised no one has mentioned that raichles didn't have an active boot board like full tilts do, that's probably the biggest different besides the intuitions...

The past 3 seasons I've been shredding on Riachles. I bought a FT classic liner and tossed the old shitty stock liners in the trash. I've gone through two sets of shells, but I love em.

If you use the liner it originally came with, it's not going to be very comfortable.. But if you get some new liners for the shell (as said above^^) they should work great! Until they break

as for the fella above, both pairs cost me about 50$ each. You can find them much cheaper at yard sales, thrift shops, ect. I got mine off b/s/t.
