So apparently Mt Hood is considered by geologists to be the volcano the most likely to erupt of the volcanoes on the coast. So what would you do if you were skiing and suddenly:
I would find the biggest jump and do a future spin. Spinning my self one season into the future when the volcano has stabilized and the snow returns landing my self on some nice untouched snow
Getting sucked up into a pit of Hell in the form of an apocalyptic lava flow coupled with a choking cloud of ash that kills everything within 100 miles?
This all sounds like something Tim Windell has been waiting... oh sorry, preparing for!
The amount of ash that fat fuck sucks in should leave him invulnerable to the affects of a volcanic eruption.
Ah, the crazy things you remember from your college geology classes?!?!?!
The volcano in the photo is a lava flow, representing Mafic material. It is less viscous so it flows easier. Pacific Northwest material is Felsic. It has higher viscosity and so the eruptions are more explosive.
When Mount Hood erupts, many people will catch really, really big air.
Last eruption of Mt. Hood left a large crater on the south side around 10,000 years ago. Now have an ideal ski field instead of a rocky steep slope like the north side. Magma lays around 3 miles under the Mt. Hood crust so from the top it might be a mile or so under Government Camp.
The chances of it erupting sometime in the near future isn't that great.
