Steepest slope you've ever skiied?

I live in Tahoe and usually ski at Mt. Rose. It is a small mountain but has the chutes which, when filled with pow, are some of the best skiing I've ever done. The chutes are 55* but ive hit spots that are 60-65*. What is the steepest you guys have ever skiied?

some steep stuff in the backcountry, but its not like i bring my fucking clinometer everywhere i go. probably around 40 degrees at the max, though, since im on the east coast. ripcord at mt snow is supposed to be 37 and i dont think ive done anything that was a whole lot steeper than that for a distance.

65 Degrees!? Pics or it certainly didn't happen, the entrance to the Super C couloir in Portillo is widely quoted as 50, that's one of the steepest I've skied. 55 is probably common enough, maybe even 60, but 65 is ridiculously steep.

I skied this last winter.  Im not sure if its the steepest thing Ive skied down, but it was probably the scariest.

Unmarked: no clue.

Marked, probably Le Pas de Chavanette, also known as the "Mur Suisse" or "Swiss Wall" It's about 60 degrees.

The slope is classified in the Swiss/French difficulty rating as orange, which means that it is rated as too difficult to fit in the standard classification.

Get's way dodgier end of season when the moguls are the size of cars.

Sorry but that is definitely not 60 degrees. Moguls would not form on something that steep the snow would sluff off. That slope might be 45 but not much steeper then that.

This is something that is 55 degrees and probably a pretty accurate number.

i skied all the lines of lakes chutes at Breckenridge at least once. to top it off it was all in one day toward the end of last season with conditions of ice/iced corn. i don't know haw steep it was but it was pretty steep

Indeed it wasn't 60, it's actually 55 degrees.

"It starts in a narrow pass on the mountain top with an inclication of 55 degrees."

I've been in the resort next to it for the past 20 years and experienced it myself plenty of times, it really is that steep.

Tuckermans Ravine. Lol @ the dumbass who said it was 85 to 90 degrees. Its more like 50 degrees ya chummmmmpppppp. I was still shitting my pants tho. Definately my scariest moment skiing.

Wrong. June has some steeps but nothing over 45 degrees and thats if you traverse way over.

Chute option out of mandatory air at Silverton. Thin cover, a log to jump over, and a rope to help you down. Easily pushing 55 degrees.

hmm im trying to think of what the steepest inbounds line at whist is, w/b obviously claims the shit out of falsys, but id have to say exhilaration and a few others would be steeper.

as far as backcountry, not too sure, maybe finger chutes on decker? been meaning to ski saddle chute on fissile for a while, hoping to do that this year, that will be the steeps, probably 50-55. summit chute is right next to it, no way ill be skiing that any time soon, or ever, but its can get to be a true 60+ slope.

on the east coast, theres this really fucking random spot about a 1/3 of the way up the superquad at sugarloaf to the lookers left in the woods that runs down to the stream. Steeper than anything ive skied out there, not very long though.

In July I summited Mt. Hood from Govy and skied back down. The headwall was definitely the scariest thing I've ever skied, plus my legs were jello by the time I got there ha. If you fall you slide down into rocks and thermal vents and other fun things that will probably kill you, so I was feeling pretty intimidated to say the least. I'm not sure exactly how steep the headwall is, but we needed crampons and an ice ax in order to get up there...I guess maybe earlier in the season you wouldn't need them, but at that point it was super melted out and way too steep to just hike up.

Rambo Crested Butte Colorado!! Steepest man made hill in North America! And yes that is a fact. It's about 55 degrees. But also all the North Face and High Lift Terrian in CB. It's absolutely, pooping in your pants, amazing

heard of it maybe, but na don't know where it is. I know every inch of that montain and there is nothing close to that steep though. If you skinned up to the negatives then theres some 55 degree stuff maybe.

hahaha you are right, june is'nt that steep. Bakers is the one right underneath 7 next to davos drop. I havent done negatives yet, but i will next season when june's up and runing again. If i went to the negatives, should i go down matterhorn a little bit then turn left??? sorry for being a dick

Those are great runs, also spanky's off blackcomb is probably up there too, so many 45-50+'s at whistler.

Nothing off 7 is very steep at all, I think on the marked trails carson is the steepest. The negatives are those crazy chutes you see from the top of 7, so i think youd have to ski through the woods down towards where the road closes past the double eagle and then start skinning up. Its some gnarly shit, i dont have an AT setup that I can use so I havent done it yet.

I skied peregrine and golden eagle at beaver creek when I was a kid. It was one of the scariest things as such a small child, I'm pretty sure i compared it to skiing down the wall of the empire state building in my 9 year old mind. They are double black groomers by the way and part of the birds of prey race course

Excitation Chutes at Whistler are damn steep. Not really sure on the actual pitch, but any and all fresh snow sluffs off after the first person goes down, so it has to be over 50. Also now that I think about it, one of the Lake Chutes at Breckenridge is insanely steep.

probably like 30 degrees. minnesota blows for steeps. gonna hit a 40 though in like a week. not very steep compared to you guys but it's the steepest run in minnesota.

Sorry - the Swiss Wall is not 55 degrees. The top 30 yards or so is generally quoted at 50, maybe 55 at a push but the vast majority of the run is around 40-45.

The cornice at the top of Kirkwood is the steepest but I don't know if that is long enough to count. You either have to balls up go strait until you get into the regular bowl or end up skidding out if you're not the first person to hit it when it snows.

I love the chutes at Mt Rose. Those are the steepest or the small chutes sort of off the back side at KW when you go get off the backside lift and go to in that middle part of Kirkwood that doesn't have a lift. And if you take a left off Cornice express and drop in and stay on the steep chute/cliff lines that is as the Chutes at Rose

Squaw has a few places that are almost as steep as the above mentioned but not quite.

Summit County CO resorts absolutely do not have anything as steep inbounds btw.

The steepest i've skied is in the late 50s probably although it's difficult to say as you don't start faffing around with inclinometers when things are that steep.

Here's a POV screen grab of one very steep section on a line. POV always makes things look way less steep than they actually are of course.
