Is Helly Hansen stuff good?

I need to gt some new pants this year. I was looking at The Helly Hansen Infantry pants which look pretty sick. But my only concern is that their waterproof rating for the Helly Tech XP isn't that high (10,00mm) compared to some other pants in the same price range. The Burton sheild pants which sell for $220 have 30,000mm rating for only $20 more than the Helly Hansen pants. I've had good luck with Burton stuff in the past but I wanted to try a different brand this year. Also I've heard people say that with Helly stuff eventhough the rating isn't that high their stuff actually performs better than other brands with high mm ratings. So anyone who has had Hally stuff in the past what has been your expereince? Is their stuff worth the money?

Everything Helly I have ever had has been great. However Burton is making so much money right now, they can afford to offer 30, 000mm for only 20 dollars more than a Helly Hanson pant with 10,000mm.

my buddy is hardcore about the whole technical outerwear deal and rocks the h/h and loves it, i must say its pretty good from an outsiders perspective. i got siver cuz its cheaper and looks cooler, people call me shallow, and theyre right, therefore, i dont give a shit what they say.

carefull they do make lower end jackets and pants (sports chek) but there upper end stuff rocks

The waterproofing levels advertised on outerwear are NOT based on a standardized test whatsoever. No individual brands rating such as 10,000mm or 30,000mm waterproof can be compared to one another it's really an extremely vague point of reference. Think about this, Helly Hanson has been around longer than any other three outerwear companies put together and they make most of their money off Industrial grade waterproof equipment for ocean related construction oildrilling and sailing. There are no wetter situations than what they build outerwear for. Additionally they have very high breathability ratings which is actually the main contributing factor to comfort in active sports like skiing.

Basically bro their shits sick swoop it up yo.

their jackets and pants are 100%waterproff is they say so. i got a jacket and at first, i didnt think it would be warm but it kept my body warm in the -30s. get anyhting from them

I got h/h vertical pants from last year and theyre sick. I never got cold with them and they are insanely waterproof, and sooo light! get hh pants right now dude u wont regret it!

My personal opinion is that anything over 10,000 mm's is just not comfortable. It's like wearing a sheet of teflon. Having said that, you will love the Infintry pant by helly hansen, they will not dissapoint.

Just in addition, Helly Hansen was the first company to sell a waterproof jacket and it was almost 130 years ago, so they sure know what they are doing.

I have a helly hanson base layer shirt, and damn its nice. I've worn it playing soccer in 50 degree, pouring rain and it kept me reasonably warm. Plus, it works great under everything when your skiing. I prefer it over underarmour because underarmour is too tight and I really just don't like it. In conclusion H.H. is the shit

ya they do....but the jackets you buy for skiing arent the same jackets they use for offshor oil drilling.

The technology they get pai the big bucks to develop gets put in their higher end winter gear aswell, and when it gets outdated it naturaly trickles down into their lower gear aswell. So yes, the technology they use in the sailling, and oil rig gear is used in the stuff you buy.

hellys stuff all has a lifetime warranty. if u get wet and they say its waterprooof they will replace it

Helly Hansen has sweet jackets. Good combination of functionality and style. I have one of their rider designed jackets, never too warm or too cold.
